How do I enter the event?
Entries for all current events are available online. Registrations open 1 December. Simply navigate your way to 'THE SWIM' drop-down, select your event and follow the instructions.
Are there age restrictions on entry?
Yes there are. Our age restriction is 13 – 85 years.
13 – 17 yrs = 1km
18+ = 1km, 3km, 5km
Spectators under 15 must be supervised by an adult.
Competitors under the age of 18 wishing to enter the Great Barrier Reef Ocean Swim Series must have their competency / ability verified by a coach. Also, there needs to be a parent/guardian already registered for them to be able to compete.
What is your refund policy?
Our T&C’s are outlined during registration.
Upon completion of the online entry registration, you are agreeing to our terms and we do not offer ANY full refunds.
REFUND POLICY: Upon completion of online entry registration, 50% will be refundable up to 90 days of the event date. No refunds from 60 days before the event date. No refunds will be available after that time under ANY circumstances. The withdrawal must be via email BEFORE each of those dates.
Are children spectators free?
Children under 3 are free and children as spectators under 15 must be supervised by an adult at all times.Every swimmer/spectator can access all the inclusions during the day - all free time activities, buffett lunch etc.
Once you have registered the swimmers and/or spectators, we will just need the names and details of the children under 3 to add into the system.
Can I change my swim distance?
Yes, swimmers can adjust your swim entry for an administration fee of $20 up until Sunday 12 October.
After this time if you wish to change the distance, you can let our team know on the event day - they will advise.
Can I swim with my GoPro?
Yes, you are most welcome to record your swim from below!
We include all event/swim photography & drone footage in the package. Free time photography is not included and can be purchased by the onboard team.
Am I required to wear a stinger suit?
We highly recommend wearing a form of marine stinger protection and stinger suits are supplied on the pontoon by the Sunlover crew for those who choose to wear them.
Will I get seasick?
If you a prone to seasickness or unsure, we recommend preparing for this. October is a great month for our event as the waters are warm and wind is low however, the trip out can be bumpy at times and we cannot control the conditions.
Bring your travel sickness tablets, ginger etc!
